Short text
LIS: Function "Change information structure" in standard analyses
Description
As of Release 3.0B, in the standard analyses of all information systems of LIS (Purchasing Information System, Sales Information System, Inventory Controlling, Shop Floor Information System, Plant Maintenance Information System, Quality Management Information System) you can change the information structure and move from an individual information system to the entire LIS. Moving around between information systems is now easy and user-friendly.
Jumping into another information structure allows you to:
- obtain more detailed information which is contained in another information structure for aggregated information that is stored in the information structure of the standard analysis.
- Example:
- You perform a standard analysis which is based on the information structure with the characteristics Plant and Storage Location. You want, however, to analyze the materials for a particular storage location. Thus, directly from the standard analysis, you can call up another information structure which contains information on material level.
- obtain information from other functional areas
- Example:
- You want to analyze data in the Purchasing Information System for a particular material from Inventory Management. For any data selection from the Purchasing Information System, you can use the function Change information structure to easily jump to an information structure from Inventory Controlling and display performance figures for the stock situation.
- change to an information structure whose data is updated in another time unit
- Example:
- You execute a standard analysis that is based on data updated on a monthly basis. You can now change to the information structure whose data is updated exactly to the day.
When changing the information structure or standard analysis, the following selection criteria of the initial standard analysis are also copied:
- characteristic values
-
The characteristic values, that are entered on the selection screen of the initial standard analysis,
as well as the characteristic values, that were determined by the drill-down and, if necessary, the
position of the cursor, are transferred to the standard analysis you switch to. That is, they are used there to select data.
You obviously cannot give any key figures to characteristics, which, although they exist in the initial standard analysis, are not in the standard analysis to which you switched to.
- period to analyze
- The period to analyze of the standard analysis you change to is determined by the system.
