LIS: Standard Analyses - Selecting and Sorting Key Figures

Description

In Release 4.0A, additional functions are available in the standard for Choose key figures. A new icon is now used to display the Choose key figures function. The functions available in the Choose key figures dialog window are explained in the following sections:

  1. Key Figures Catalog

The contents of the key figures catalog are defined in Customizing when the analysis is created.

It acts as a template from which you can select special key figures that you want to display. The sequence in which you select the key figures defines the subsequent display sequence. The key figures are displayed in columns.

If you select a key figure in the catalog and place the cursor in your selection list, then the marked key figure is inserted directly to the position of your cursor. You can use the arrow buttons to define the location in the list.

You can change the sequence of the selected key figures at any time.
Mark the key figure you wish to move by double-clicking on it, and then place the cursor on the place where you want to move it. Then select the Move function.

  1. Filter Function

A filter enables you to restrict the key figures in the catalog according to a particular category (unit, currency, quantity, character, etc.). Only the categories available in this selection will then be offered for selection.

  1. Sort Function

You can sort the displayed key figures in ascending or descending order. Here the system uses the last sorting method selected, and displays this as an extra row in the headerof the initial list. You can also choose a sort criterion that is not displayed as a column - such as date.

An additional function in the menu bar allows you to undo the sort.

If the cursor is not placed on a table field or on the list when you choose the sort criteria, the dialog box Choose sort criteria appears. You can choose between the key and the description of the characteristics independently of the dialog box by using Settings -> Characteristic display.

  1. Search Function

The search function allows you to search according to the description or the technical name of the key figure. (You can switch to the technical name of the key figure by using the right-hand mouse button and choosing 'technical field name on/off'). This only functions in accordance with the current setting made in the key figure catalog. If the key figures are displayed in terms of their technical name, this means you can only search for them using their technical names. The search begins at the place where you have placed your cursor. You therefore need to make sure that your cursor is placed at the beginning of the list.

In order to restrict the scope of your search, you can use the filter to select a group, and choose Search in current group. If the system does not find the key figure you are looking for in this group, it will continue searching in the other groups.

  1. Additional Columns

In other key figure selection columns you can define and fix the display factor and number of decimal places for your display. Use the possible entries function (F4 Help) here. The settings you make here can help you to avoid rounding errors.

Note:
If you leave the fields for the decimal places empty, the system uses the predefined number of decimal places. This can cause key figures to be displayed differently. If the key figure does not have any decimal places, the system uses the presetting of the domain.
