SAP Risk Management - Preference Processing (New)

Use

As of SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS) Release 3.0, you can perform preference processing electronically for the EU and NAFTA. SAP GTS 3.0 provides the following functions:

  • Management of vendor-based vendor declarations (VBVD)
  • Request and dunning of vendor-based vendor declarations

  • Management of vendor-based vendor declarations

  • Monitoring of existing vendor declarations at the vendor-product-relation level and the validity periods thereof

  • Management of vendor declarations for customer purposes (VDCP)
  • Presentation of vendor declarations for customer purposes

  • Transmission of vendor declarations for customer purposes , using standard texts that comply with requirements

  • Cancellation of vendor declarations for customer purposes if there is a change in a good's preference eligibility

  • Monitoring of existing vendor declarations at the product-customer-relation level and the validity periods thereof

  • EU preference determination
  • Aggregation of statements regarding the preference eligibility of a good's primary materials on the basis of vendor-based vendor declarations or other preference documents

  • Calculation of the threshold value that the system compares with the ex works price and on the basis of which the system decides if a good is eligible for preferential customs duty rates

  • NAFTA preference determination
  • Aggregation of statements regarding the preference eligibility of a good's primary materials on the basis of vendor-based vendor declarations or other preference documents

  • Calculation of the threshold value that the system compares with the ex works price and on the basis of which the system decides if a good is eligible for preferential customs duty rates

  • Calculation of the threshold value based on the net cost method

  • Management of the preference status in the product master
  • The system stores the result of preference determination in the product master

  • Printing of preference documents and forms
  • EC certificate of origin, NAFTA certificate of origin

  • EUR 1 certificate of origin

  • Movement certificate A.TR.1

  • Forms for requesting and dunning vendor-based vendor declarations

  • Forms for sending and canceling vendor declarations for customer purposes (including the proportion of dutiable product components)

  • Transfer of preference indicator to the feeder system
  • When you are creating relevant documents in the feeder system, SAP GTS 3.0 interprets the preference information from the product master and transmits it to the feeder system

  • Upload of preference rules from a data provider
  • Preference agreements and preference rules are stipulated by the legislator. To minimize potential errors when you are manually maintaining data, you can upload data from a data provider.

By showing you goods that are eligible for preferential customs duty rates and thus cutting customs duty costs, SAP GTS 3.0 provides competitive advantage for both you and your customers.

SAP GTS 3.0 also affords the following business benefits:

  • Time saving by optimizing sales processes in customs departments
  • Cost reduction by optimizing process flows in preference processing
  • Flexibility of customs departments with regard to new or amended rules in preference agreements or organizational changes in the company
  • Guaranteed compliance with preference processing requirements due to the use of a data provider

You configure preference processing in the SAP GTS 3.0 Implementation Guide (IMG), by choosing SAP Global Trade Services -> SAP Risk Management-> 'Preference Processing' Service and SAP Global Trade Services -> SAP Risk Management -> General Settings.
