Configuration Simulation: New and Changed Functions

Description

You can define whether you want to simulate the configuration of a material in Sales and Distribution or Engineering.

If you select Sales & distribution, the configuration works as it does in a sales document. Depending on the configuration parameters in the configuration profile, either only the material in the order item is configured in the sales document, or configurable assemblies are configured as well. BOM explosions in Sales and Distribution also depend on the settings in the configuration profile.

If you select Engineering, the configuration works as it does in the order BOM maintenance function. For example, you cannot assign values to the header material, because the configuration of the header material is copied from the sales order.

Simulation in planned order

You can simulate the BOM explosion in a planned order for the values you assign, by choosing Plnd order.

Previously, you could enter the BOM application when starting the simulation. As of this release, the BOM application is copied from the configuration profile.

On the initial screen of configuration simulation, you can define the level of detail for the BOM explosion. The BOM is then exploded down to the level you define on the result screen.
