ERP_UID_02: Changes in the Determination of UII Origin (new)

Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enhancement Package 4 (SAP_APPL 604), business function Item Unique Identification (Additional Functions) (ERP_UID_02), the system uses the IUID status to determine the UII origin (whether the UII has been created internally or externally):

• If an item has the IUID status UII Generated it is handled as an internally created UII.

• If an item has the IUID status UII Attached but not UII Generated it is handled as an externally created UII.

The system considers the UII origin when processing UIIs. Which means, for example, an internal UII cannot be changed.
