Short text
Material Identification in Production
Scope of Functions
As of Release 4.6C you can use handling units (HUs) to carry out material identification on the production line. Directly before production begins, you can check whether the components that are packed in the HUs belong to the process order.
The material identification component is especially important for the pharmaceutical industry. One reason is that material identification ensures that the correct materials enter production. Another reason is that it allows the supply of components to be more easily checked and verified.
You can check the components for:
- Completeness:
- All ingredients that were picked before the check are available on the production line.
- Sequence:
- The picked ingredients are supplied to production in a pre-defined sequence.
Material identification can take place at different times during production, depending on the operating time of the components. Depending on the structure of the process order, the components can be checked
- For the whole process order
- For an operation of the process order
- For a phase of the process order
Automatic goods issue posting
After a completeness or sequence check has been made, you can immediately trigger an automatic goods issue posting and post the consumption of the components.
Documentation: batch record
The resulting material identification data is automatically transferred to the batch record.
Prerequisite
The material components must be staged in handling units using the function Picking with manufacturing orders.
The HUs are then created with the materials required for the production and are also assigned to a production or process order.
Picking can either be carried out with or without Warehouse Management.
