Description

  • Creation of value-only materials (Retail only)
  • User exit for reclassification of material group objects (Retail only)
  • Performance and quality improvement in multiple selection for materials (Retail only)
  • Plausibily checks for variant-creating characteristics (Retail only)
  • Value scale and quota scale

Creation of value-only materials

The direct creation of value-only materials in material group maintenance has been converted to function modules. In this way, the distribution and transport of material groups is aligned with the distribution of standard materials.

User exit for reclassification of material group objects (class type 026)

In the reclassification of material group objects (material group, material group hierarchy level, materials), a user exit has been implemented that allows customer-specific checks when material group objects are reassigned.

Performance and quality improvement in multiple selection for materials

The performance and quality of the multiple selection for materials has been improved.

Plausibility checks for variant-creating characteristics

The plausibility checks that run when generic materials are created have been enhanced. Nonsensical or problematic constellations that result when characteristics (variant-creating, informative) are defined when values (multiple/single value) are defined, and when additional values are permitted (indicator in classification system), are recognized and caught by the system.

Value scale and quota scale

As of Release 4.5A you can define value scales and quota scales for characteristics. A value scale is a table that contains all the values for a characteristic. A quota scale is the definition of quotas for the characteristic values in a value scale.

In a quota scale, you can assign a quota to each value in the value scale. When you process generic material items in a purchase order or allocation table, the existing quota scales are evaluated.

On the basis of the quotas, the system proposes the distribution of the total quantity among the variants of the generic material.

For example, a generic material has the characteristics "Color" and "Size" with the following values:

  • Color: red, blue
  • Size: S, M, L

A quota scale exists for the two characteristics with the following quotas:

  • Color/quota: ret/1, blue/2
  • Size/quota: S/1, M/3, L/2

When a purchase order is created, 180 pieces of the generic material are orders. The quota scale leads to the following distribution of quantities over the variants (color/size/quantity):

  • ret/S/10, ret/M/30, ret/L/20
  • blue/S/20, blue/M/60, blue/L/40

The individual quantities are calculated as follows:

Quantity = Total quantity * Color quota * Size quota / 18
