Retail Revenue Management

Use

As of SAP R/3 Enterprise Retail 2.00 (EA-RETAIL 200) you can use the Retail Revenue Management Interface (RRM Interface) to connect Retail Revenue Management systems (RRM systems) to SAP Retail, to ensure a cooperative price determination process aimed at achieving optimum-profit sales prices.

The RRM Interface contains several functions for exchanging data between SAP Retail and an external RRM system. During the data export, data that is needed for the optimization process is transferred from SAP Retail to the RRM system. This includes master data for a group of articles and stores, for which optimum-profit sales prices should be defined, purchase prices for determining margins, historical sales data that is used to define the price elasticity curves that underline the optimization process, and price points that are also used in the sales price calculation in SAP Retail.

On the basis of exported data, the external RRM system determines optimum-profit prices, using the optimization algorithm contained there. After the optimization process is finished the sales prices are transferred to SAP Retail using a BAPI interface. A corresponding dialog usually exists in the RRM system. In SAP Retail, data imported for sales prices (conditions and pricing documents) is processed further using the standard pricing functions.

A report exists for the data export that you can use to interactively define the data to be exported. Master data is exported with this report, but because of the problem of mass data a BAPI interface exists for exporting the remaining data (price points and historical sales data). You can also use the report for background processing, which, for example, triggers an automatic, periodic update of the dataset in the RRM system after changes are made in SAP Retail.

Effects on Customizing

You must maintain new settings for data exports in the RRM Interface. Using an implementation for the Business Add-In (BAdI) RP_RRM_OUTBOUND, you determine how the data export for the RRM system should be carried out technically. This is a mandatory implementation. In addition, you should maintain an RRM profile that combines several control parameters for the data export. This includes, for example, the way in which purchase prices are defined or how historical sales data should be defined.
