New Functions in Store Physical Inventory
Scope of Functions
- Grouping Physical Inventory Documents (Retail only)
- Transfer of Creators from IDocs to Physical Inventory Documents (Retail only)
Grouping Inventory Documents
If inventory document in the central R/3 system are created for the first time when store physical inventory IDocs are processed, the documents can be grouped according to material groups and storage bins as you can do when creating online. The storage information is based on the material master and can be defined there as a simple fixed bin assignment, if the Warehouse Management application component is not being used.
You can make settings in Customizing under Controls for store physical inventory to define for each store which documents are to be grouped and how they are to be grouped. Grouping types and grouping criteria can be updated in the inventory document header.
Transfer of Creators from IDocs to Physical Inventory Documents
In the store physical inventory IDoc header, you can enter the name of the employee who entered the store physical inventory. At inbound processing for the store order IDoc, this information is then copied to the corresponding inventory document items of the central R/3 system.
Inventory documents are very often created in the central R/3 system before the store physical inventory has taken place so that the book inventory balance can be frozen. In many cases, the store physical inventory takes place without the document data being received from the central system. If the inventory count results are transferred to the central system as an IDoc, the data in an IDoc and on the employees who entered the physical inventory are normally distributed among various inventory documents.
If the store physical inventory IDoc contains no employee data, the user currently logged on in the system is entered as having created the document.
