WM: Change/Delete Several Storage Bins Simultaneously

Description

Beginning with Release 3.0, you can delete or change the characteristics of several storage bins simultaneously using the Warehouse Management system.

Requirements

You can only delete storage bins that are

• not blocked

• empty

There are no restrictions for changing bins.

Changes in procedure

To use this new function, select Master data -> Storage bin -> Change -> Several storage bins from the Warehouse Management menu bar.

The parameters you enter on the initial screen determine which storage bins will be displayed on the following screen. To display a list of storage bins based on these parameters, select Execute.

To select all storage bins in the list displayed, select Edit -> Select all from the menu bar.

To select or deselect storage bins one at a time, click the mouse to mark or unmark the check box at the beginning of each line. The system will only process bins that have been selected.

Bins that are empty or blocked are marked in the corresponding column with an X.

If you have selected bins to be deleted, the system sets an X in the Deletion indicator (Del.In.) column. If a bin cannot be deleted (because it is occupied or blocked), the system will not mark the Del.In. column.

Further notes

Before using this function, it is sometimes helpful to display or print a Bin Status Report for the storage type and storage bins that you intend to change.

Further notes

With this function it is now possible to activate cross-line placement into stock for a storage type subsequently. Make the appropriate settings in Customizing and then have the sort field built up new for all storage bins of the associated storage type. Cross-line placement into stock is then active immediately.
