Sending Documents via Fax and Telex

Description

Documents can be sent both by fax and by telex from the send screen.

Software/hardware requirements

1. SAPcomm
2. Fax or telex
3. SAPoffice Basic Functions Release 2.0A

Installation information

You need an entry in your output device table specifying a virtual printer for SAPcomm. This is TF01 Gammafax for sending documents by fax, and TX01 Topcallx for sending documents by telex. Details can be found in the Manual for the SAP Communications Server for SAPcomm (S42.2).

Changes in procedure

The function direct external sending enables you to reach external contact people, by fax or telex, directly from your outbox and private folders.

Proceed as follows:

1. Create a document.
2. Select Mail - Send in the menu bar.
   You reach the screen Send message.
3. In the menu bar, select Document - Direct external sending - Send fax to send a fax, or Document - Direct external sending - Send telex to send a telex.
   You branch to the screen Send Document as Fax or Send Document as Telex.
4. Enter a country identifier and the fax or telex number.
   The field Country is linked to a table containing the country identifier and corresponding country dialing code. Therefore, only specify the local area code in the fax number or telex number.
5. Define the send time:

• immediately

• at night

• send date

• send time

Note

Ensure that the specifications immediately and at night exclude each other.

1. Define the sender and recipient of the fax or telex.
2. Send your fax or telex with ENTER (Send fax or Send telex).
   You automatically branch to the screen Send message. A status message is displayed on the OK line.

The fax or telex is put into the spool. There it is identified as such and processed by SAP comm. An entry in the output device table (see special features for the installation) is used for identification.
