HCM_ERC_CI_2: Enhancements in Resume Parsing
Use
As of SAP E-Recruiting, Enhancement Package 4 (ERECRUIT 604), HCM, SAP E-Recruiting 2, a number of enhancements have been delivered for standard Resume Parsing functionality. By implementing existing Resume Parsing functionality and the associated enhancements, you can optimize the integration of SAP E-Recruiting with services offered by external vendors of your choosing and improve the ease and convenience of importing data from candidate resumes into SAP E-Recruiting.
- Note
- Because Resume Parsing is predicated on the integration of SAP E-Recruiting with services offered by external vendors, only customers who are willing to retain the services of such vendors can productively implement it.
- Moreover, the enhancements described below can only be implemented if standard Resume Parsing functionality has already been activated. For additional information about this prerequisite, consult the Release Note HCM_ERC_CL_1: Resume Parsing (new).
The enhanced functionality for Resume Parsing is comprised of the following functions.
- Resume Parsing for Use by Recruiters in Application Management
- Resume Parsing is now supported for use by recruiters and candidates alike. While Resume Parsing was originally introduced to candidates as a means to facilitate the application process by rapidly extracting data from (their own) individual resumes, this functionality is now equally at the disposal of recruiters, and therefore now also facilitates the recruitment process.
- When recruiters create applications for internal or external candidates for a requisition for which they are responsible, they can now parse data from candidate resumes and import this data - for example, personal information, work experience, education, and so on - into SAP E-Recruiting for subsequent processing, presenting a significant advantage to typing candidate data manually. Recruiters retain the right to review the parsed information for accuracy, and, if need be, revise it, before saving the candidate's information.
- Bulk Resume Parsing
- SAP E-Recruiting can now receive parsed resume data that is sent by third-party vendors in bulk. Vendors may have received paper or electronic resumes from a customer for parsing. SAP E-Recruiting keeps the parsed data for potential candidates in temporary storage. Recruiters can review these potential candidates in their work center and decide whether to accept or decline them as candidates in the system.
- As a result of this enhancement, when recruiters process these potential candidates in their work center, they now have the option to accept or decline single or multiple potential candidates directly, without reviewing the data, simply by selecting the entries and choosing the Accept or Decline button. Alternatively, recruiters can first review the parsed resume data, if desired, by clicking on the name of the potential candidate. Data for that candidate will appear in a separate window. Recruiters are equally at liberty to accept or decline candidates, as desired, from within this new window.
Effects on Existing Data
Implementing the associated enhancements has no effect on existing data in SAP E-Recruiting.
Effects on Data Transfer
Effects on System Administration
Effects on Customizing
Perform the settings for these enhancements in Customizing for SAP E-Recruiting, by means of the activities summarized under:
- Applicant Tracking -> Activities -> Set Up Resume Parsing Activities -> Set Up Resume Parsing
If the associated business function is activated, you may implement two new Business Add-Ins (BAdIs), as described below.
- BAdI: Enhancement for Bulk Resume Parsing
- Implement this new BAdI, if desired, to influence the inbound, application and outbound processing of bulk resume parsing.
- BAdI: Enhancement for Related ID of Bulk Resume Parsing
- Implement this BAdI, if desired, to enhance the element-related identifier of parsed data in bulk resume parsing.
