Linking Recruitment to Manager's Desktop

Use

From this release on, line managers can use Manager's Desktop to access data about applicants assigned to them and to make decisions about applicants.

As a central function, line managers can use Manager's Desktop to decide directly within the vacancy-related selection procedure which administrative steps the personnel department should take for an applicant.

To do this, the line manager responsible changes the vacancy assignment status for an applicant. The personnel administrator responsible automatically receives an e-mail about the changed status of the vacancy assignment and takes the necessary administrative steps in the SAP System. The link to Manager's Desktop allows line managers and personnnel administrators to conduct the selection procedure in an efficient and time-saving way. The following detailed functions help the line manager to make an informed decision:

  • Display applicant short profile
  • Display operations already carried out for this applicant
  • Display master data
  • Display qualification profile

If integration with personnel development is active, then also:

  • Execute profile comparison

If integration with SAP ArchiveLink® is active, then also:

  • Display application documents

Effects on Data Transfer

The personnel department gives the line manager access to applicants via Manager's Desktop by creating vacancy assignments for an applicant in the SAP system. If the line manager is also assigned to a relevant vacancy as the person responsible, the applicants are automatically displayed to him in Manager's Desktop and he can access the applicant data.

Effects on System Administration

If you want to use the Recruitment functions in Manager's Desktop, you must set up the relevant Manager's Desktop customizing.
