HCM_HCP_CI_1: Business Function HCM, Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 (EA-HRGXX 605), the business function HCM, Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation (HCM_HCP_CI_2) is available.

You can use this business function to optimize and more efficiently structure personnel cost planning and simulation in the following areas:

  • Data collection
It is now also possible to select by wage type when collecting data from relevant payroll results.
  • Planning run
  • Dependent cost items

With the Include Data Outside of Planning Period and Org. Unit checkbox, you can use base cost items that are outside of the planning period or planning organizational unit to derive dependent cost items from the Planning of Pers. Costs infotype (IT0666) (PA) or Planning of Pers. Costs (IT5010) (PD).
You can use this indicator to generate dependent cost items whose base cost items are not within the planning period or planning organizational unit.
  • Past costs of vacant positions

With the Past Costs of Vacant Positions checkbox, you can determine how past costs of vacant positions are included in the planning run.
  • Enhancement of employee grouping for dependent cost items and additional cost items
    You can also now group according to master cost center.

The feature entitled Organizational Grouping of Employees as Cost Objects (HCP01) is available for this purpose.
  • Enhancement of organizational object grouping for dependent cost items and additional cost items
    You can also now group according to employee group, employee subgroup, or master cost center.
    The feature entitled Organizational Grouping of Organizational Objects as Cost Objects (HCP02) is available for this purpose.

  • Detail Planning
  • New Manager Self-Service
    Line managers can use a Manager Self-Service to perform detail planning for their areas of responsibility.
    The Detail Planning (PHCPDETL) and Change Plan Data (PHCPDETLC) transactions are no longer available with the interface for the Business Server Pages (BSP) after this business function has been activated.
    Note:
    In Role Maintenance, administrators for Personnel Cost Planning (who have enhanced authorization) also have the example role SAP_HR_CPS_DET_PLAN_C_SR_NWBC available to them for NWBC. This role contains the Personnel Cost Planning service and its relevant authorizations.
    For administrators for Personnel Cost Planning to use the portal, you must create an iView for them and assign a portal role to them. You can use the above-mentioned NWBC example role SAP_HR_CPS_DET_PLAN_C_SR_NWBC as a reference.
    You can also set up a display mode for line managers where no changes can be made. You do this the same way as described above for administrators for Personnel Cost Planning, this time using example role SAP_HR_CPS_DET_PLAN_D_SR_NWBC.

  • Save User Layout
    You can use the settings dialog box for the selected cost plan to make changes the layout of a cost plan (for example, to the column selection, filters, or display) and save the layout as a user-specific view.
    Note:
    The saved view is only available for that particular user and selected combination of cost view and time view (Information Display in the selection menu for detail planning). To determine views that can be used by all users, read the information in SAP Library (Go to SAP NetWeaver Library and search for Specifying the Initial View of Applications or Saving Configuration Data Records, which are part of the documentation for Web Dynpro ABAP).

  • Filter for cost items
    You can filter cost items using a selection list on the user interface.

  • Fixed column headers
    The area with the column headers always remains visible when you scroll through an output list.

  • Fixed columns
    The area with the columns that contain key information always remains visible when you scroll horizontally through an output list.

  • Display of cost units
    In Customizing (Determine Controlling Parameters for OM Object Descriptions), you can specify how cost units (organizational units) are displayed in the selection list for detail planning on the Web Dynpro ABAP interface (-> Plan and Cost Units -> Plan). They can be displayed as long or short texts with or without the object ID.

  • Leaving Date
    You can enter a leaving date for employees or positions. By using the organizational data and by editing the employment fraction of the cost object (employee or position), specify a leaving date that the system uses to restrict the time of the employment fraction and set the employment fraction to 0%.

  • Change log with display of the increase percentage of a cost item
    In the change log, when a change is made to "Increase Cost Item", the entered percentage is displayed.

  • Hide and Show Cost Objects Without Costs
    In this view, you can also use a pushbutton to hide and show cost objects that do not contain any costs for the selected cost plan.

  • Cost items with amount per unit
    You can add and edit cost items with Amount per Unit (previously: amount, number).

  • Currency conversion
    Using the Currency selection list of the displayed cost plan (for example, Total Costs Per Cost Object) you can convert the defined plan currency (such as EUR) to another currency and display this new currency. This is for informational purposes only and does not change the plan data.
    Note:
    You can only make changes to the plan when it is displayed in the plan currency.

  • Context-Dependent Editability of Cost Items
    In Customizing (Set Editability of Cost Items Dependent on Context), you can determine whether the relevant cost item can be changed in detail planning independently of the planning context.
    Note:
    These settings override the relevant settings in the Customizing activity Create Cost Items.

  • Reset and display events per cost object
    You can select one or more cost objects and, using the Data Changes pushbutton, display the events for each selection and show the last event for each (not including organizational reassignments).

  • Reporting
  • Transferring of amounts from Personnel Cost Planning toControlling
    The following reports have been enhanced for this purpose:
    -- Releasing of the Plan and Generating of Original Documents
    (RHHCP_PLAN_CODOC_CREATE)
    -- Display Original Documents
    (RHHCP_PLAN_CODOC_DISPLAY)
    -- Posting to Accounting
    (RHHCP_PLAN_CODOC_POST)

  • Enhanced grouping of cost objects for Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation for account determination in accounting
    You can also now group according to master cost center.
    The feature entitled Grouping of Cost Objects for Account Determination (HCP03) is available for this purpose.

  • Sorting according to employee surnames in the output list (Business function does not need to be activated)
    For this purpose, reports where employee lists are output have been enhanced. Refer to the documentation of the relevant report (such as Administration of Personnel Cost Plans (RHHCP_PLAN_ADMIN)).
    Note that sorting according to surname is available only in the detail planning for the Web Dynpro interface.

The business function also has the following improvements:

  • User friendliness and user interface for detail planning by implementing Web Dynpro ABAP (WD ABAP)
  • Additional filter settings on the user interface

  • Selection of columns to be displayed in the output list

  • Display of totals and subtotals for each cost unit

  • Display of totals in the first row of the column
    This allows, for example, the total of an exceptionally long column to be visible immediately without scrolling.

  • Detail planning is now consistent with other Manager Self-Services in its usability and user interface.

  • Functional enhancements for the process of Personnel Cost Planning
Note:
As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0, the service Detail Planning of Personnel Cost Planning is available for both the Manager Self-Service and Manager Self-Service for SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) portal roles The business function HCM, Roles for SAP NetWeaver Business Client (HCM_NWBC_ROLES) provides you with an overview of all Human Resources roles that are available in a version for NWBC. For more information, see the release note HCM_NWBC_ROLES: Business Function HCM, Roles for SAP NetWeaver Business Client.

To use this business function, you must activate the Human Capital Management Enterprise Extension (EA-HR).

Effects on Customizing

You make the Customizing settings in Customizing for Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation in the following activities:

  • Planning run
Cost Planning Runs -> Assign Employee Grouping for Cost Itemsand Assign Organizational Object Grouping for Cost Items
  • Detail Planning
Detail Planning -> Determine Controlling Parameters for OM Object Descriptions and
Set Editability of Cost Items Dependent on Context
  • Reporting
Posting to Accounting -> Assign Cost Object Grouping for Account Determination
