Payroll Philippines: Enhancements to Off-Cycle Payroll

Description

The Off-Cycle Payroll component has been enhanced to include multiple payroll runs. These let you run payroll twice per payroll period (for example, on the 15th and 30th of a month payroll period). The first payment of the period is processed as an advance payment, and the second payment is processed as a regular payment comprising any pay that is still outstanding. There are two methods for processing advance payments triggered by multiple payroll runs:

  • Advance payments without deductions
These are not subject to deductions such as tax, social security system (SSS) and home development mutual fund (HDMF) contributions
  • Advance payments with deductions
These are subject to statutory deductions

You can define whether statutory deductions are deducted progressively, that is, from the advance payment and then the final payment of the period, or whether they are deducted from the final payment only.

In addition, bonus payroll runs are now processed using the subschema Off-Cycle Payments (PHBO). The subschema enables you to define your own off-cycle reasons and categories, and how the bonus runs are processed.

Effects on Customizing

To use the multiple payroll function, you must configure the Multiple Payroll Runs section of the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Payroll Philippines.

To define your own off-cycle reasons and categories for both multiple and bonus runs, you must configure the activity Set Up Off-Cycle Reasons in the Payroll Philippines IMG.
