Infotype Object ID Numbering Enhancement

Scope of Functions

The following infotypes are enhanced:

  • Family/Related Person Infotype 0021

  • Life/Casualty Ins. JP Infotype 0143

  • Prop. Acc. Saving JP Infotype 0144

The function of Object ID field in above infotypes is enhanced. From Release 46A, the Object ID field has the automatic numbering function. This means that the system automatically assigns a new ID number in the field and you do not have to enter the number anymore. Therefore, this field is hidden by default and can be displayed via corresponding setting in Table T588M.

Use

Normally, Object ID field is used to differentiate records with common subtypes. (For example, to distinguish between first child and second child). The new automatic numbering function for Object ID field occurs only during creation of new records. Use the COPY function to 'change' existing records that contain an object ID number, so that it will inherit the same object ID number (For example, the record for first child already existed in the system and the child's dependent information has to be maintained),

  • Use CREATE function to CREATE new record for a new employee,

  • Use COPY function to CHANGE the data for an employee whose record has already been stored in the system.

OTHERS

From Release 4.5A, there is a new field, OBJRQ (Object identification permitted for subtype) in Table T591A. This field indicates the possible subtypes that can be used for field OBJPS, to differentiate records.
The automatic numbering function is only available to the subtype where the OBJRQ field is marked in Table T591A.
