Enhancements to the ESS Services for Japan

Use

Leave of Absence Request Service

The name of the service was changed from Leave Request (Japan) to Leave of Absence Request to reflect the function change made in 4.6B.

The following new functions are available in the Leave of Absence Request service:

• The relevant fields for types of leave of absence are covered in the application form.

• Address and more specific reason for leave of absence can be selected for all categories of leave of absence.

• Attended person is selected specifically for nursing leave of absence or child-care leave of absence.

• Entered data is either passed to the infogroup or stored in the infotype text of the action for future reference.

• Entered data is stored under specific subtype or type.

• New subtypes are added for leave of absence application.

• Address type: address during leave of absence (J3)

• Deadline type: end of leave of absence (84)

• Default action type (Leave of absence 91) and reasons (01-03) are provided.

• Default infogroup for the action and reasons are provided (Infogroup 91)

• Entry task for personnel officer was added.

Notification of Marriage Service

The following new functions are available in the Notification of Marriage Service:

• Additional information can be changed from the Notification of Marriage Service.

• Address

• Bank details

• Change points of workflow

• The personnel officer can not only see changes to additional information made by theemployee, but can also can approve the changes. (The approval function requires proper settings of the employees' authorization.)

• As for the approval function, the infotype locked when the employee submits his or her application. Locked entries are released when a personnel department officer approves them.

• The personnel department officer can confirm, and approve the content of the application from the notification of marriage workflow without going into master data maintenance (PA30).

• The employee receives a mail containing the content of change application at the same time as the application is submitted.

• The employee receives a mail after the personnel department officer has approved it, and is informed of the content changed by the personnel department officer.

Effects on Customizing

• Leave of Absence Request
  Default entries for action type (91), infogroup (91) and deadline type (84), are delivered as standard settings. Please customize infogroup and dynamic actions to match the need of your organization for reasons of leave of absence.
  Default screen control setting for address type: address during leave of absence (J3) is delivered. (See Change screen modifications in implementation guide)

• Notification of Marriage
  When the approval function is used, the employee's authorization for address information, bank information, and family/dependent information should be entry with the lock.
