Innovations in HR reporting

Description

  1. Program classification
    By assigning reports from the PNP logical database to program classes, you can change the layout of the selection screen. This means that it is possible to hide irrelevant input fields for individual reports.
    In Customizing, you can define your own classes, and assign reports - even standard SAP reports - to these classes.

  1. Paths into Reporting - general report selection
    In addition to the familiar option of calling reports by following menu paths, it is now also possible to call reports using the menu option 'Information systems -> General report selection.'
    Report selection is designed like a tree. The application is on the first level, followed by the sub-application, and then the object to which the information refers. On the fourth level is the short title of the report that can be executed from here. You will not find any reports that make changes to the database under the 'General report selection' menu option.

  1. Report output as Table Control
    In 3.0C, the report output of the following reports was changed; this now displayed in Table Control:
    RPLICO10 - flexible employee data
    RPLMIT00 - employee directory
    RPLPBV00 - staffing changes
    RPLSFB00 - further education/training of employees
    RPLEAT00 - list of employee entries/withdrawals
    RPLJUB00 - list of service anniversaries
    RPLSTAD0 - list of the child allowance certificates
    RPTABS20 - absence list
    RPLVBAD0 - capital formation overview (Germany only)
    RPLVBBD0 - verified capital formation contracts (Germany only)

    The standardization of output for the reports listed provide the following advantages:
  • Lists can be report-specific, user-specific and can be set up interactively
    - only the columns you select are printed
    - the list can be downloaded to MS EXCEL, MS WORD, or DBASE
    - the list can be sorted
    - lines and columns can be hidden
    - the list can be displayed using 'page layout'

  • Search function

  • A selection log can be printed. It contains the specifications that the report used to make the selection.

  • The list can be sent as an R/Mail

  3. Reports where the selection screen has been changed
    Below is a list of reports where parameters or select options were changed in such a way that you might need to make changes to the variants (to ensure that the reports gives you the same results as before):

Software/hardware requirements

To integrate reports that are output in Table Control with PC products, you need the following software for MS Windows 3.1 or higher, Windows NT or Windows95:

  • MS EXCEL Version 5.0
  • MS WORD Version 6.0

  1. Report classification
    To assign your own reports to program classes or to change the program class assignment of standard SAP reports, please refer to the Implementation Guide, under Assign program classes.
    To create your own program classes, please refer to the Implementation Guide, chapter Create program classes.
  2. Paths into Reporting - general report selection
    To find out how to remove country-specific reports from the report tree, or how to adapt the report tree to your needs, please refer to the Implementation Guide, under Delete country-specific reports from report tree or Set up report tree.

For reports that are output in Table Control, the selection phase is separate from the display phase (this means that data is only output after all data has been retrieved).
