Integration: New weekly calendar screens

Description

As of release 3.0C, there are new weekly calendar screens for the
entry of attendances with additional data.

The weekly calendar screens (screens 4054, 4055 and 4056 in the module pool MP200000) for entering attendances with data for other applications (Cost Accounting and Materials Management/External Services) have been moved to the Table Control functionality and completely revised. You can now enter the following:

  • actual time data,
  • information about a different payment,
  • data for other modules of the R/3 system.

The additional data referred to here is:

  • specifications for cost assignment (primary costs) on screen 4055,
  • specifications for activity allocation (secondary costs) on screen 4054,
  • data for external services on screen 4056.

For more information on the integration of Time Management please refer to release note Integration of PA data entry.

In the standard system, you call the new weekly calendar screens by choosing the menu path Time management -> Time data -> Weekly
calendar/additional data.

The advantages of the new screens are:

  • You can now enter all data, and not just a selection of possible data on the weekly overview screen.
  • By using the standard functionality of Table Control, users can make their own specific settings regarding the selection, arrangement and size of the entry columns.
  • The dynamic modification of the data entry screen (table T588M) allows you to set up the entry screens (choice of header information, choice of entry and display columns, choice of controls) according to certain organizational criteria by carrying out simple feature and table maintenance.
  • Detailed information on working times is displayed in the header of the screen; however, it is possible to hide this using dynamic screen modification.
  • It is now easier to change the selection period, and there are more scrolling options.

Effects on Customizing

To make the necessary Customizing settings for integration with the other modules, please refer to the section Integrating Time Management with other R/3 Applications in the IMG for time management.

To set up the entry screens, please refer to the section Determine screen modification in the Implementation Guide. Please use the entries for the module pool MP200000 and for screens 4054, 4055 and 4056.

Changes to the Interface

The user interface of the weekly calendar screens has been changed:

  • In the header, a range of working time data is displayed. In Customizing, you can 'hide' any lines that are not required (this does not leave a gap on the screen).
  • Table Control provides you with a large number of entry and display columns. You can modify these in Customizing, or adapt them to suit your own specific needs.
  • Table Control provides you with a scroll bar for scrolling.
  • Table Control adjusts automatically to any changes made to the size of the window on the screen.
  • Under Table Control, the selection period (usually a calendar week) is displayed. You can change the period by changing the starting day, going to the previous week, going to the next week, choosing the exact calendar week of the starting day (if, for example, the starting day is a Wednesday, but the calendar week begins on Monday).
  • Under Table Control, you will also find the total number of data records for the week (the selection period) and the number of the record displayed in the top entry line. You are also provided with further scrolling keys and also a key that will give you an empty entry screen.

Changes in procedure

The various actions on the week entry screen (for example, changing the selection period or going to the detail screen) require that you save any changes you have entered up to now. Because of this, you no longer exit the entry screen automatically when you make a save. When you have made a save, exit the entry screen using the Back function.

Further notes

It is not possible to maintain data records on the weekly calendar screens if:

  • the records have a validity period lasting several days,
  • the records contain data that is hidden on the week entry screen
  • the records contain additional data that cannot be maintained on the weekly calendar screen currently being used.

In these situations, the input line of the record is set to "not ready for input". You cannot delete or copy these data records either. To maintain these records, go into the detail screen.
