New Log Interface in Time Evaluation (RPTIME00)
Description
The log interface in time evaluation (RPTIME00) has been redesigned.
Various items of information are processed during time evaluation in complex calculation steps. The program flow is logged so that the evaluation results can be easily analyzed. The log is particularly useful in the following situations:
- To test the customizing settings for time evaluation during the implementation phase
- To analyse the results of time evaluation and detect errors
The log interface in time evaluation has been redesigned to provide a clearer display of the evaluation results, making it easier to analyze them.

Changes to the Interface
The following enhancements have been made to the log interface for Release 4.0:
- You get a summarized table of contents that looks like a tree structure.
- You can select a specific node of the tree structure to obtain detailed information.
- Clear headers and logical blocks of information make it easier to navigate and to detect errors. There is a new function called BLOCK for structuring the evaluation schemas for output in the log.
- Different information levels allow you to hide detailed technical information (for example, on the process flow in personnel calculation rules). The information can be shown again later, if required. This makes the log easier to understand for the user.
- You can use the new function BLOCK to group similar functions in the time evaluation schemas in order to give the log a more logical structure. Function BLOCK has already been added to the standard schemas.
- The new methods of structuring the log mean that function PROTO and the 'log control' column in schema maintenance are no longer required and are therefore no longer processed.
- You can double-click to access a context-sensitive list display which you can print.
- You can define the tree and list displays as log variants.
The new log interface is also used in Payroll Accounting.
