Microsoft Project Integration (Enhanced)

Use

As of Release 4.00, a number of significant enhancements have been made to Microsoft Project Integration.

  • cProjects now supports the repeated upload from and the single download to Microsoft Project Server 2003. The download creates a new project in Microsoft Project Server by copying a Microsoft Project Server project template.
  • Using the BAdI DPR_MSP_CUST_FIELDS (BAdI: Change Project Plan Data in cProjects and Microsoft Project) you can significantly influence the behavior of the upload and download between cProjects and Microsoft Project. This BAdI provides all the project data from Microsoft Project. You can use this data to change the cProjects project element data. The standard system therefore contains a BAdI implementation that influences the calendar information in Microsoft Project.
  • The field assignment of Microsoft Project elements to cProjects project elements has been enhanced.

Effects on Existing Data

Effects on Data Transfer

As of Release 4.0, the Customizing table with the field assignments that you could display using transaction DPR_DWNLD_2_MSP_CUST in Release 3.1, has been moved to a new maintenance view. The entries from Release 3.1 are transferred to Release 4.0 using the program DPR_MOVE_MSP_CONFIG.

Effects on System Administration

A new ActiveX control is available and you have to install it locally.

Effects on Customizing

Customizing has been changed and a number of new IMG activities have been added.

  • The field assignments and the BAdI are identical for Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Project Client.
  • To make use of the functions offered by Microsoft Project Server, you have to run Customizing in the Microsoft Project Server Integration area.
