Installed Base Management

Description

You can use installed base management to create and manage stuctures (so-called installed bases). You use the installed bases to group parts, or you enter the sub-structure of pieces of equipment and other objects that can be uniquely identified by a number or a description.

Possible components of an installed base are:

  • Pieces of equipment
  • Materials (with and without serial numbers)
  • Documents

You can store further information about the assignment such as batch and revision level for each component. In particular, the serial number or the unchecked field 'Further device data' can be filled for a material. The installed bases can have several levels and each change is documented with validity intervals. In this way you are able to store hierarchies of serial numbers without having to maintain an extensive amount of master data.

Software/hardware requirements

If a Windows 32 bit platform is available as the frontend, the structure of the installed base is represented in tree control form. The tree control is an OCX module which is used to display the tree structures.

You use the function keys and table control to navigate to other frontend operating systems.
