Functional Enhancements and Changes to Maintenance Plans

Scope of Functions

The following new features are available for maintenance plans:

  • Maintenance plan and object costing

Maintenance plan costing has been simplified. The previous functions for individual and collective determination have been combined into a single transaction.
Maintenance plan costing has also been enhanced by object-related costing.
Object-related costing provides the following functions:
  • It selects all the maintenance items, in which the specified equipment is entered as a reference object, and determines the expected costs for the period of time you specified.

  • Object-related costing is currently not possible for more than one piece of equipment or for other technical objects (functional location, serial number, assembly).

  • Creation of cycle sets

An individual transaction has been created for maintaining cycle sets (copy model of cycles for the creation of multiple counter plans). The previous maintenance function using the maintenance strategy with Cycle set scheduling parameter has been deleted.
  • Connection to object service

From Release 4.6A, you can send maintenance plans using object service. To do this, call up the maintenance plan and send it to another user in the system, if necessary with a note.
For more information, see Object Service and Links.
  • Configurable equipment as reference object

From Release 4.6A, maintenance planning supports the configuration of objects.
You can specify a configurable piece of equipment as a reference object for a maintenance plan and assign a configurable general task list, in which the operations to be performed are described. Object dependencies can be defined for the operations of the general task list. For example, an operation is only relevant as a characteristic for the color "red". When the system generates a maintenance or service order as a maintenance call object during scheduling, the general task list is configured and the relevant operations are copied into the order.
The general task list is configured automatically.
Example:
The system uses the characteristic (color = "red") defined in the equipment to configure the general task list assigned to the maintenance plan, and copies the following operations from the general task list into the order generated:
  • All the operations, in which the color "red" is defined as an object dependency

  • All the operations without object dependencies

  • Module pool SAPMIP0

The module pool SAPMIP0 has been converted to function group SAPLIWP3.
