LOG_EAM_SIMPLICITY: Business Package for Generic EAM Functions (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 (EA-APPL 605), business function Simplified Management of EAM Functions (LOG_EAM_SIMPLICITY), new portal content is available for managing master data in the Plant Maintenance (PM) application component. If you want to access this content, you must install the Business Package for Generic EAM Functions.

The Business Package for EAM Generic Functions is based on the standards of SAP NetWeaver Business Client and SAP NetWeaver Portal. Object Instance Floorplans (OIFs) provide a standardized user interface that supports user activities in relation to master data management and can be used as the basis for creating customer-specific roles.

OIFs are available for the following business objects:

  • Technical objects (change, create, display)
  • Object networks (change, create, display)
  • Measuring points (change, create, display)
  • Measurement documents (create, display)
  • Maintenance task lists (display)
  • Maintenance notifications (change, create, display)
  • Maintenance plans (display)
  • Maintenance items (display)
  • Maintenance orders (display)
  • Linear reference patterns (change, create, display)

Additional display functions are also available for objects:

  • View object in the Asset Viewer (possible for all object types except maintenance plan and linear reference pattern)
The Asset Viewer is a display tool that enables simple navigation through complex object relationships.
  • View additional business content and analytical information from Business Context Viewer (BCV)
Business content is available for technical objects, maintenance order, and maintenance notifications.
For this function, the business function FND, Business Context Viewer Main Application (/BCV/Main) must be activated. For more information, see release note /BCV/MAIN: FND, Business Context Viewer Main Application (New).
Note
BCV is licensed as part of the SAP Collaborative Product Development license. You need this license in order to use BCV content with this business package.

The Business Package for EAM Generic Functions also delivers two sets of personal object worklists (POWLs) for accessing favorite, recently accessed, and recently changed objects.

The My Objects set of POWLs contains all available object types (excluding linear reference patterns and object networks). From these POWLs, you have various navigation options depending on the selected object. You can navigate to the Asset Viewer, and the relevant Web Dynpro application and backend transaction (in display mode). Users can also create personalized lists based on these POWLs by filtering by object type, for example "My Notifications".

The Object Networks set of POWLs contains the object type "object network" only. From these POWLs, you can navigate to the corresponding Web Dynpro application in both display and edit mode.
