LOG_EAM_LINEAR_2: Additional Data for Object Networks (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0 (SAP_APPL 606) business function EAM, Linear Asset Management 2 (LOG_EAM_LINEAR_2), you can group object networks in network types and network groups and assign an LRP type to your linear reference patterns. These grouping options play an especially significant role when analyzing your object network data and using network attributes.

  • You define network types in Customizing for Linear Asset Management and assign them to your object networks at header level (transaction IN21). You use this assignment to define the validity of specific network attribute categories for the object networks. The network type is also a selection criterion for analyzing object network data in the various single-level and multi-level lists.
  • You define network groups in Customizing for Linear Asset Management and assign them to your object networks at header level (transaction IN21). The network group is a selection criterion for analyzing object network data in the various single-level and multi-level lists.
  • You define LRP types in Customizing for Linear Asset Management and assign them to linear reference patterns in the master data (transactions IK81 and IK82). You can use LRP types to group object networks for which you primarily want to carry out maintenance tasks or monitor daily operations, for example. You can select your object networks according to LRP types in the single-level list reports (transactions IN26 and IN27).

Effects on Existing Data

In the new transactions for modeling object networks (IN21, IN22, IN23), the fields Network Type and Network Group can be found in the group box Network Data.

In the new transaction for analyzing network attributes (IN34), the selection field Network Type is available.

In the new transactions IN24, IN25, IN26, and IN27, the selection fields Network Type and Network Group are available.

In transactions IK81, IK82, and IK83, you can find the new LRP Type field in the group box Header Data. In the list reports IN26 and IN27, you can select object network data by LRP type.

Effects on Data Transfer

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

You define network types, network groups, and LRP types in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service → Technical Objects → Linear Asset Management:

  • You define network types by choosing Define Additional Data for Object Links and Networks -→ Define Network Types and then assign these network types to the appropriate network attribute categories by choosing Define Settings for Network Attributes -→ Assign Network Attribute Categories to Network Types.
  • You define network groups by choosing Define Additional Data for Object Links and Networks -→ Define Network Group.
  • You define LRP types in the activity Define LRP Type.
