LOG_EAM_VE_INT: Visualization of Technical Objects in the Master Data (New)

Use

The business function EAM, Integration with SAP 3D Visual Enterprise (LOG_EAM_VE_INT) is available as of the following releases:

• Enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0 SP05 (EA-APPL 606)

• Enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0, version for SAP HANA

This business function enables you to use the SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer to visualize technical objects. When you call up the master data for equipment or functional locations on the SAP Web UI for Plant Maintenance, you can display a 2D image or a 3D scene of the technical object. You can use the display functions of the SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer in the visualized model. For example, you can pull the model apart or rotate it, display a detailed view or a cross-section, as well as display associated parts lists.

Effects on Existing Data

In the Business Package for Generic EAM Functions and in the Business Package for Maintenance Worker, the new pushbutton Display Spare Parts is available when displaying and changing technical objects. By choosing this pushbutton you open the RH file that is assigned to the relevant technical object via the document info record. The system also considers documents with RH files that are assigned to the construction type. If the system cannot find an assigned file that can be displayed, the pushbutton is hidden.

In Customizing for Cross-Application Components, SAP delivers the following default settings for Document Management:

• The document type SP is defined with the appropriate object links under Control Data --> Define Document Types.

• Under Visual Enterprise Generator --> Define Search Sequence for Viewable File, the viewing application Spare Part and the workstation application RH for the usage PM are assigned to the object links consisting of the document type SP and the SAP objects EQUI (Equipment), IFLOT (Functional Location), and MARA (Material Master).
