FND_EPT_PROC_ORCH_1: Process Visibility, Logging, and Monitoring (New)

Use

As of SAP Business Suite Foundation 7.31 you can view processes and their execution in your systems:

  • View the sequence of activities executed for a running business process (local and end-to-end as federated process across SAP systems)
  • View (near) time real-time the running business process instances
  • Display the calculated key performance indicator (KPI) data for running business process instances

Effects on Existing Data

To log and make a specific process visible, you must maintain the following:

  • Business Object Repository (BOR) events
  • Process definitions
  • Process-intrinsic key performance indicators (KPIs) as part of the process definition

Business Object Repository Events

Any related business activities have been enabled for logging. You do this by is done by creating BOR events.

You can maintain BOR events in the Customizing activities under Business Object Repository Instrumentation. For more information, see the Customizing section below.

Process Definitions

To view, log, and monitor processes, you create process definitions made up of business activities (for example, Create a Sales Order) and their associated business objects (for example, a sales order).

Note
The information that a business activity has been executed is provided by a business object or an event. If such an event does not exist, it must be added. For more information on how to create events, see documentation for SAP Business Workflow on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com.

You can maintain process definitions in the Customizing activity Create and Maintain Process Definition. For more information, see the Customizing section below.

Key Performance Indicators

In process definitions, you can maintain the following key performance indicators (KPIs):

  • Count - Calculates how often a business activity has been executed in a process
  • Duration - Calculates the amount of time that elapses between activities
  • Classification - A customer-defined KPI calculated using BRFplus rules.

KPI calculations can be adapted according to your requirements. You can maintain KPIs in the Customizing activity Create and Maintain Process Definition. For more information, see the Customizing section below.
