Authorizations (Changed)
Use
As of SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0, the authorization handling for creating portfolio objects has been changed. For buckets and portfolios, an additional Createauthorization has been added. If you have Createauthorization for a portfolio or a bucket, you can create the following portfolio objects within the portfolio or bucket:
- Buckets/Subbuckets
- Items
- Initiatives
- Reviews
- Collections
This enables you to restrict the access to the portfolio or the bucket detail data while still allowing users to create objects within that portfolio or bucket.
When creating a new object, you automatically have Administrationauthorization for that object.
For decision points in initiatives, the concept of Responsible Role and Responsible Resource replaces the Ownerauthorization. The roles and assigned resources are defined on the initiative. You can set a responsible role or resource on the decision point.

To implement customer-specific authorization checks, such as including customer-defined authorization activities or setting authorizations other than default authorizations during creation, you can use the Business Add-In Customizing for SAP Portfolio and Project Management under Portfolio Management -> Business Add-Ins and Customer Includes -> BAdI: ACL Authorization for Portfolio Management.
