LOG_PP_SRN_02: Shift Note (New)

Use

As of SAP Enhancement Package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0, Enterprise Extension SCM (EA-SCM 605) Business Function Enhancements for Shift Report and Shift Note (LOG_PP_SRN_02), you can enter and administer shift notes using the Shift Note Cockpit. In addition, the list of shift notes has been enhanced by the addition of new functions.

The following new functions are offered for shift notes:

  • New Transaction: Shift Note Cockpit (SHN5)
As of Enhancement Package 5, the new transaction Shift Note Cockpit is available. In the Shift Note Cockpit, you can simultaneously display several lists of shift notes in the form of either tabs or overviews. In this way, you can monitor the shift notes of several work centers at the same time, for example. You previously have to define the selection criteria for these lists in transaction SHN4.
The Shift Note Cockpit also provides the following functions:
  • Create Shift Note (also with copy function)

The newly created shift note is immediately displayed in the list if the data of the shift note matches up with the selection criteria for the shift note list.
  • Change Shift Note

  • Display Shift Note

  • Send Shift Note as E-Mail

  • Display Shift Note as PDF

  • Enhanced Selection Options in the List of Shift Notes (Transaction SHN4)
The selection screen of transaction SHN4 has been redesigned and enhanced through the addition of new selection criteria. You can now choose between the following views:
  • Basic Search

The basic search helps the inexperienced user to quickly find the shift notes for a certain period. A full-text search is additionally available.
  • Advanced Search

The advanced search provides predefined queries such as the following:
Determination of all shift notes that start or end within a certain shift, determination of all shift notes from the early shifts of the last three weeks.
  • Comprehensive Search

The comprehensive search includes all possible selection criteria that are available for the selection of shift notes.
In addition, the new BAdI COCF_BD_SN_LIST_CUSTSEL is available, with which you can enhance the selection criteria in the advanced search list of shift notes by adding a customer-specific section.
  • Create Shift Notes Directly in the List of Shift Notes (SHN4)
You can now also create a shift note directly in the list of shift notes. In the process, you can also use an already existing shift note as a copying template.
  • New Reference Objects for Entry of the Shift Notes:
  • Production Resources/Tools (BUS1038)

You can now also create shift notes with reference to a production resource or tool.
  • Shift Note (COCF_SN) and Shift Report (COCF_SR)

You can now also create a shift note with reference to another shift note or a shift report.
A precondition for the use of the new reference objects is that you have first selected the object in Customizing for the shift note type under Reference Objects.
  • Information About the Reporter
When entering the shift note, you can now add the name of the reporter. This makes particular sense if shift notes are normally entered centrally by a certain person, but you wish to document who reported the event.
You can now assign enhanced authorizations to an experienced user.
  • Trigger Alert Using Alert Framework
You can trigger an alert if you have created a shift note with reference to a certain category. Thus, for example, you can inform the maintenance manager via text message if a shift note with the category machine outage is entered in production and that person is responsible for the relevant plant or equipment. When the shift note is created, the system automatically triggers an alert, which is then texted to the affected person's cell phone.
  • Create Shift Note via Process Message
You can now specify that a shift note can be created directly from a process message. To this end, the process message has been enhanced by addition of the following objects:
  • Message Destination: SNOT Create Shift Note

  • Process Message Category for PI: PI_SNOTE Create Shift Note

  • Process Message Category für PP: PP_SNOTE Create Shift Note

To be able to use the shift note, you first have to carry out certain Customizing activities. To simplify this, the BC set COCF_BCS_SN_CUST is provided as of EHP5. If you activate this BC set, the system carries out the necessary activities for you.
