Document management: USER_EXIT for increment of version number
Description
If you want to number your versions, you can use Customizing to set values for every document type to
determine how the numbering should take place. You can choose from several different types of increment.
If you want to carry out a numbering procedure that differs from the norm, you can control the version assignment via a USER-Exit.
The following settings are necessary in Customizing for Document Management under Define document type:
- Version number increment
- Enter the value "*" that allows for a USER_EXIT.
- Program-EXIT for document number
- You must replace the standard program MCDOKZNR with a company-specific program. The procedure is documented under Define document type.
