Integrated Distributed PDM Solution (ID PDM)
Description
As of Release 4.0A, you have more control over the distribution of master data for product data management (PDM).
Distribution process
The status of an object determines its processing status for transfer to another system. If the object is still in preparation, the status indicator prevents its data from being distributed.
Distributed data is stored redundantly. You can use change authorizations to specify whether the source system or the target system currently has the authorization to change an object. For some objects, such as materials, you can distribute the change authorization between systems.
You use profiles to distribute and monitor change authorizations.
Scope of distributed data
This option is supported for the following objects:
- Materials
- Documents
- Bills of material
- Simple material BOMs
- Simple document structures
- Classes
- Characteristics
- Dependencies
