New Functions for Sales Order BOMs: Order Browser

Scope of Functions

The order browser and order analysis are now available as new functions.

In the order browser, multi-level BOMs for materials entered in a sales order, are displayed in the form of an overview tree.

You use the order browsers as the central navigation tool for multi- level order BOMs that you want to display and edit with reference to a sales order.

Both configurable and non-configurable assemblies are displayed with their components. Configurable assemblies have to be result-oriented so you can display them in the order browser.

The graphical presentation of multi-level BOMs gives you an overview of all assemblies in a BOM for a sales order. If an assembly is not order-specific, then the material BOM is displayed at the appropriate point on the overview tree. Order assemblies and order-independent assemblies are indicated by different symbols. You can call up the following functions from the order browser:

  • Fix single-level or multi-level order-independent BOMs
  • Change single-level order BOMs
  • Variant configuration
  • Multi-level order BOM reporting
  • BOM transfer to the project system
With the aid of the graphical display you can transfer the bill of material for a particular node in the overview tree to the project system.

In an order analysis you have an overview of all assemblies that are contained in a multi-level order BOM. On the result screen of the order analysis, the assemblies are displayed on a series of tab pages.

  • Order assemblies
  • Detached order assemblies (assemblies you created with reference to a sales order, but have not yet incorporated into the multi-level BOM)
  • Material BOMs (order-independent assemblies)
  • Bills of material whose headers are invalid on the valid-from date
  • Bills of material that contain no valid items on the valid-from date
  • Assemblies that appear more than once in a multi-level BOM

Activities

Choose Logistics -> Production -> Master data -> Bills of material -> Bill of material -> Order BOM -> Order browser.

On the initial screen enter the sales order number, the sales order item, the BOM application, and a date or change number.
