Enhancements in the Order Browser

Use

Multi-level copying

Reusing customer specific developments: In many cases, you want to reuse the assemblies that you developed in the past for a specific customer order, for another customer order.

Transferring a BOM from an offer: In other cases, you generate an offer for a configurable material and carry out a time-consuming level-by-level configuration. After you have converted the offer into a standard order, you want to reuse the configured BOM.

Using a new function of the order browser, you copy a multi-level BOM from a customer order in the past or from an offer into a new customer order. The system also copies:

  • The level-by-level configuration
  • The order BOMs with the order-specific modifications

You can make the following specifications:

You can either copy the entire multi-level BOM to a customer order item, or only copy a subtree level-by-level.

If order BOMs already exist for the customer order, you can choose whether these are overwritten or not.

You can start the copy as a simulation, whereby the system does not make any changes to operative data.

Enhancements in the order analysis

In the order analysis, you find an extra indicator that specifies whether a material has been created using material exchange. Therefore, you see immediately which materials you have created especially for your customer order.

Enhancements for fixing

If you fix a BOM level-by-level, the system first displays a list of the BOMs to be fixed. In this list, you can select the BOMS which really should be fixed. In this way, you can ensure that only those order BOMs that are really necessary are created.

Furthermore, you can use fixing to determine that the system creates WBS BOMs instead of order BOMs. For that, you specify a WBS element to which the WBS BOM is assigned. With this function, it is possible, among other things, to save the result of a level-by-level configuration for a specific project. You then process the WBS BOMS in the WBS BOM browser.
