Capacity requirements planning: New functions
Description
This release note describes functions in the area of capacity requirements planning that are new for Release 3.0C.
Capacity availability check
The capacity availability check is provided as a new function in Release 3.0C. For every operation in the production order or in the planned order the system checks whether sufficient capacity exists when needed to satisfy the requirements of the order at the work center where the operation is to be processed. The check is carried out for each period where the period splitting is determined in the period profile.
The capacity availability check takes account of the requirements of other orders/operations at this work center. It can be called up either when you create or change a production order or a planned order. The capacity availability check takes account of the following overall profiles:
- SAPSFCG012 for the check in the production order
- SAPMPSG006 for the check in the planned order
The capacity availability check can be run automatically when you create an assembly order with a planned order. This can be specified in Customizing using the requirements class.
