Capacity Planning: Changed Availability Check for Capacities

Description

In the availability check for capacity, the system checks whether sufficient capacity is available at the work center for the corresponding date for each operation in an order.

As of Release 3.0D, you can have a capacity availability check automatically carried out when converting a planned order to a production order or when creating or releasing a production order. To do this, remove the indicator no check in Customizing for production orders in step Define checking control.

The system uses the total profile SAPSFCG013 for the capacity availability check in production orders. In the period profile, week is set as the period split.

If an order cannot be carried out due to a lack of capacity, the operation dates for the order can be determined again using finite scheduling. The capacity requirements from other orders or operations at a work center within a planning period (basic load) are taken into account in the availability check for capacity. Before you check orders for available capacity, you should determine the existing basic load. To do this, execute report RCCYLOAD to initialize the basic load.

For additional information about the availability check for capacity and determining the basic load, refer to the PP Capacity Planning guide.
