Automatic creation of batches to be produced

Description

As of Release 4.0A you can automatically create the batch to be produced for materials to be handled in batches as follows

• on order creation

• with material

• with individual conversion of a planned order

• with collective conversion of planned orders

• on order release

• of a single order

• using collective release

You can also specify that the batch is automatically classified on creation.

You have to make the following entries in Customizing for production orders:

• you must state in the relevant production control profile,

• whether automatic batch creation should take place on order creation or on order release

• whether the batch should be classified

• in the section of system adjustments you must state the type the system message must have that is to be displayed generally on batch number assignment (error/warning/information), if not batch number was entered.
  This setting can also be made user dependent.
