Short text
KANBAN with In-House Production and MRP
Scope of Functions
In many cases it is useful to include components in MRP, which are procured by KANBAN run schedule quantities or KANBAN production orders. This can be necessary if individual raw materials are procured, not with KANBAN, but planned by the vendors or if you want to transmit a forecast to your vendor.
Previously it was only possible to combine KANBAN with MRP when using manual KANBAN with repetitive manufacturing. Now you can use MRP with run schedule quantities and production orders within the KANBAN process. There are two standard replenishment strategies here (the in-house production strategies 0005 and 0006).
The planned orders, which come from MRP, are reduced on creation of the run schedule quantities or production orders by emptying a kanban, as in the replenishment strategy. Here you define the following in the replenishment strategy for in-house production:
- the reduction of planned orders
- the reduction period (until which date planned orders are included)
- the recreation of planned orders (in the case of a cancellation of the run schedule quantity or production order).
