Planning Table - Additional Planning Tool for MRP

Description

From Release 4.0, you can also use the planning table in Repetitive Manufacturing as a tool for planning and evaluating planned orders and production orders created in the planning run. You can do this even if no run schedule headers exist for the materials you want to plan. If you want to process a material in the planning table, you must only have maintained a valid production version in the material master record. If you do not only want to use the planning table for planning purposes but for backflushing as well, you must also maintain a run schedule header.

In a repetitive manufacturing environment, planning and control is usually carried out on a period and quantity basis. The layout of the planning table has been designed to support this requirement and is also based on periods to provide a very clear, easy-to-interpret overview of materials and production lines.

It makes sense to use the planning table as an additional planning and evaluation tool for your planning results if you work in a repetitive environment.

You can use the planning table in combination with MRP. The system displays all planned orders and production orders that were created in the planning run in the planning table where they can be processed.

The planner/MRP controller uses the planning table to plan the production quantities. At a glance, you can check the production quantities, monitor the available capacity of the production lines and check up on the availability situation of the products produced on each line.

The flexible strategies available for automatically dispatching quantities provide even more support for creating a realistic master plan balanced with capacity on hand.

As planning is often carried out on a shift basis, functions are also available in the planning table for distributing production quantities over shifts.
