Short text
Periods with different ranges of coverage in range of coverage profile
Description
The range of coverage profile is used to calculate dynamic safety stock. Up to now, you could define a minimum, maximum and planned range of coverage, for up to 3 time periods, in the range of coverage profile.
As of Release 4.5A, it is now possible to define additional periods with different ranges of coverage in the range of coverage profile. This is useful when, for example, in a particular period higher demand means you have to plan higher safety stock than usual.
You maintain the different ranges of coverage based on dates, that is, you enter a from/to date. You can create several periods for a range of coverage profile. The periods, however, may not overlap.
If you have maintained additional ranges of coverage, these will be used in the planning run to calculate the ranges of coverage. If you have not maintained any additional ranges of coverage in the period, the the system calculates using the values that you have maintained in the three time periods.
