BAPIs for Backflushing in Repetitive Manufacturing

Scope of Functions

The REM backflushes are often carried out in external systems and then transmitted back to the SAP system. Until now, two function modules existed in Repetitive Manufacturing which you could use to download data to external systems and then to upload data back from the external systems to the SAP system. These modules have been replaced by the BAPIs (Business Application Program Interface) which are special interfaces to other systems.

An external system may be, for example, a stationary bar code scanner which you use to record the type and quantity of finished materials. The external system should be able to immediately trigger the necessary actions in the SAP system so that you do not have to record the backflush data in the SAP system manually.

Using the BAPIs, the activities of the following backflushing transactions are guaranteed:

  • MF40 Final backflush for make-to-stock production

  • MF41 Backflush reversal

  • MF43 Reporting point backflush

  • MF44 Final backflush for make-to-order production

  • MF48 Activity backflush

  • MF4U Backflsuhing excess component consumption

  • MF4S Final backflush for production by lots

The above-mentioned functions are grouped into the four following processes. A BAPI exists for each process. The function Backflush reversal is multi-process and is therefore assigned to a separate BAPI.

  • Backflush for make-to-stock repetitive manufacturing
  • Backflush for make-to-order repetitive manufacturing
  • Backflush for REM production by lots
  • Backflush reversal

The BAPIs for the individual processes are defined by the newly created SAP Business Object Backflushing inRepetitive Manufacturing.
