New functions in repetitive manufacturing

PDC Interface

Two function modules exist to download data to external systems or to upload data from external systems:

  • Function module for download: RM_RS_DOWNLOAD
This function module is used to provide PDC systems with run schedule header data.
  • Function module for upload: RM_RS_UPLOAD
This function module is used to accept and post backflushing data in run schedule headers that is sent from a PDC system.

Posting standard activities separately

If the cycle time is too high, it may make sense (to improve performance) to make the activity posting separately from the goods receipt posting. You can now use the repetitive manufacturing profile to control whether activities are to be posted with the GR backflush or not. You can then post the standard activities at a later date with a separate function from the activity posting.

Posting withdrawal separately

For technical reasons, it may make sense to post the goods issue (back flush) separately from the GR backflush (final backflush). You can now use the repetitive manufacturing profile to control whether the system is to carry out a backflush at goods receipt. You can then post the withdrawal of the components and also component scrap at a later date using the component withdrawal function.

Link to quality management from repetitive manufacturing

You now have the option of linking repetitive manufacturing to quality management. This means that you can now also carry out an inspection that accompanies production in repetitive manufacturing. With this interface, inspection lots are created automatically when creating run schedule headers. The inspection results at the inspection point are recorded in the inspection lot. If the repetitive manufacturing profile triggers a reporting point backflush, then when the system creates the results for the inspection point in quality management, you can branch directly into repetitive manufacturing by selecting the function, Reporting point.
