Short text
Changes in the Registration and De-registration Procedure
Scope of Functions
As of release 4.61A, a student-related dialog screen is available for registration and de-registration. This makes it possible to display all registrations for a program of study in the student file. The functions provided enable you to display, change, delete and process registrations and de-registrations.
Registration
You can now register students for a complete academic year in a single step. You can also register students for only part of an academic session.
When you register students, the system automatically determines default values for the time period in question.
The following fields are new:
- Registration date
- Indicator: Part-time study
Deregistration
When you de-register students, the relationship between the student and the program is delimited. If
the student is not registered for any other program, the relationship between the student and the organizational unit is also delimited.
Unlike in previous releases, the student's master record is no longer delimited when the student is de-registered. This now makes it possible to undo unintentional de-registrations.
The following attributes are stored along with the de-registration data:
- Reason for the de-registration
- Date of the de-registration
Effects on Existing Data
Student registration records that were created with previous Campus Management releases are no longer consistent when you upgrade your system to release 4.61A. However, no functions have been provided for conversion of existing data records because the Campus Management component is still in its pilot phase.
