Cost Adjustments (New)

Use

As of Enterprise 4.70 Extension Set 2.0, Production Sharing Accounting includes the Cost Adjustments transaction (Accounting → Production Sharing Accounting → Processing → Manual Transfers → Cost Adjustments).

You use the transaction to post cost adjustments, as required, to reflect revisions of actual PSC costs that are to be recovered in the current quarter after the financial ledger has been closed. There is no limit to the number of cost adjustment postings that can be made per period; you can post as many as you require.

There are two types of cost adjustments: direct cost adjustments, and cross-flow cost recovery adjustments. The direct cost adjustment transfers costs between two producing PSCs before profit is calculated.

Cross-flow cost recovery adjustments transfer costs from (1) a non-producing PSC to a producing PSC, (2) one producing PSC to another producing PSC, or (3) one product to another product within the same PSC. Both the receiver and the sender are involved in cross-flow cost recovery adjustments, while direct cost adjustments involve only the receiver.
