Use of Budget Period in Asset Accounting (FI-AA) (New)

Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension Public Sector Management (EA-PS 604), Enhancement Package 4, the following new account assignment objects are also included in the time-dependent data of the asset master record:

  • Budget Period
  • Budget Period for investment purposes

Account assignment objects "for investment purposes" differ from the other objects in that only APC postings can be made to them. It is not possible to post depreciation to these object.

In order for you to be able to enter the new account assignment objects in the asset master record, they have to be active in the given company code. Furthermore, the account assignment object "Budget Period" is dependent on the account assignment object "Fund" and the account assignment object "Budget Period for investment purposes" is dependent on the account assignment object "Fund for investment purposes". This means the "Fund" or "Fund for investment purposes" have to be activated before you can activate the "Budget Period" or "Budget period for investment purposes".

Effects on Customizing

You specify the details for account assignment to each of these objects in Customizing. Choose Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Integration with the General Ledger -> Additional Account Assignment Objects.

The active objects also have to be ready for input according to the screen layout rule for the time-dependent data. Choose Financial Accounting -> Asset Accounting -> Master Data -> Screen Layout -> Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data.
