PSM_FM_CI_2: Average Daily Balances (New)

Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension EA-PS, Enhancement Package 4 (EA-PS 604), Business Function PSM, Funds Management 2 (PSM_FM_CI_2), you can distribute the amounts of displayed documents between account assignments using particular criteria. You have to use new general ledger accounting for this function to work.

You define the following in Customizing:

  • which amounts should be distributed (for example, document type, account assignment)
  • which account assignments determine the splitting relationship

The program Weighted Distribution of Interest Received (RFFMS_ADB_INTERESTS_POST) identifies the documents to be distributed and distributes them between the defined account assignments. The distribution always takes place for a pre-defined period and takes the amount and the time factor into account.

An example for using average daily balances is in distributing interest earned. In this case, for example, different amounts from several funds for are posted to a G/L account for a particular period of time and are created as a total amount. If incoming interest is posted, this is distributed to the individual funds in accordance with the individual amounts and the length of the investment period.
