GTAS (New)

Use

The Governmentwide Treasury Account Symbol Adjusted Trial Balance System (GTAS) of the United States Department of the Treasury replaces the FACTS I and FACTS II reporting systems as the primary means of reporting agency trial balance data to the Treasury beginning with fiscal year 2012.

On the SAP Easy Access screen, under Public Sector Management > Functions for the US Federal Government > Information System > GTAS,you can access the new Trial Balance Reportand GTAS Bulk File Creationprograms.

Effects on Existing Data

You can now use ledger 95 to produce the GTAS bulk file and for reporting. There are new and changed fields in the ledger 95 line item and total tables.

The length for the standard general ledger (SGL) field is now six digits. You can use program RFFMFG_GTAS_CONV to convert master data to the six-digit SGL account by adding 00 to the end. You can also use this program to perform ledger data conversion and initialization to eliminate null values in the new fields.

You can use the new program RFFMFG_HSUBKEY_CONV to do a technical conversion of FACTS I and FACTS II attributes, which were previously concatenated in the BL string field in ledger 95. This conversion makes them available as individual fields for ledger 95.

The Change Application of Funds: Basic Screen includes all of the new component Treasury Account Symbol (TAS) fields as defined by the Treasury. It also includes an indicator to determine whether or not to include TAS data in the GTAS bulk file, which is sent to the Treasury.

The Residual Budgetary Account Closing program RFFMFG_BL_YRCL, or US Federal Year-End Closing, has been enhanced to allow for functional migration from FACTS I and FACTS II to GTAS attributes for year beginning account balances. The configuration and logic for summarizing, or collecting, has also been changed so it is consistent with the new configuration for reporting.
