PRS_ERP_CPILS1: Report Employee Utilization (New)

Use

As of SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 (EA-APPL 605), business function Commercial Project Inception & Lean Staffing (PRS_ERP_CPILS1), you can use the report Employee Utilization to gather information about the quantity of assignments allocated to a specific resource.

This report provides an overview of the percentage of time that an employee is utilized for assignments. Utilized time is the time that an employee spends on one or more assignments. Employees use the Forecast to indicate the time they plan to spend working on an assignment: for current and future assignment objects and months the report reads data from the forecast database. For past assignment objects or periods of time in the past, the report reads CATS data.

For example, a delivery or staffing manager can examine which consultant has been assigned to a customer or to an order and what their planned and actual contribution has been.

Features

The report shows the actual resource utilization in percent for employees and organizational units. The utilization percentage can be displayed for past, current and future periods.

Two employee utilization Power Lists are available:

  • POWL Employee Utilization per OrgUnit enables evaluations based on organizational units
  • POWL Employee Utilization per CC enables evaluations based on controlling area and cost centers

The maximum evaluation period of both Power Lists is 12 months.

Depending on your authorizations, you can start this report using different user interfaces:

  1. SAP Query
Navigation path: SAP Easy Access → Reporting → Employee Utilization per OrgUnit / per CC

Alternatively you can execute transaction SQ01 using the following data:
    Query Area: Global Area (Cross-Client)
    Query Name: 0SAWE_PSEU_Q01 or 0SAWE_PSEU_Q02
  2. Power List
Navigation path: SAP Easy Access → Reporting → POWL Employee Utilization per OrgUnit / per CC

The report definition dialog displays the following fields, which you use to specify the scope of the report:

  • Organizational unit or Controlling area and Cost Center of the employee
  • Employee ID
  • Last name
  • First name
  • Assignment period
For example, the date range 28.01.2010 # 15.06.2010 sets the output periods 01/2010 # 06/2010
  • Booking status

Choose the Apply button to use your report definition to generate a report that is immediately visible. The report can contain one or more entries, and each entry contains the following information:

  • Organizational unit or Controlling Area and Cost Center of the employee
  • Employee ID
  • Last name
  • First name
  • Pd 1-12
1-12 periods of evaluation depending on the selected assignment period
  • Last Updated
Date of last update of forecast data for the selected employee
  • No CATS-Auth.
Indicates if access to CATS data is allowed for the selected employee ID and date.

The report generation process only considers employees belonging to employee groups defined in the Customizing table Define Relevant Employee Groups.

Effects on Existing Data

Existing data is not affected.

Effects on Data Transfer

Not applicable.

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

The data used in the report is retrieved using a data source. The extraction method is based on a function module stored in the function group SAWE_EXTR.
The report output is obtained using generated Infoset queries or Power Lists.

To extend the report Employee Utilization, you must create an implementation of the Business Add-In (BAdI) SAWE_REPORTING. This Business Add-In provides a method that enables you to enrich the output data of the report. If you use this method, you have to regenerate the Infoset-queries or the Power Lists, or use a customer-specific output interface, such as SAP List Viewer.
