Structure/Dates Project Information System: Changes in Release 3.0D

Description

The following changes and enhancements have been made to the structure/ dates information system in Release 3.0D:

New Functions

• Sending evaluations via SAPOffice mail

You can send an evaluation in the structure/dates information system to another user. The recipient can call up the project information right in the mail. The data or layout of the evaluation that this recipient can view and what he can perform in the information system, depends on the combination of the following options you have chosen:

• current settings

When you choose current settings, the evaluation that the recipient views will have the same layout as yours. The only difference is that the recipient will not be able to hide/show sub-trees.

• same authorization

When you choose same authorization, the recipient of the evaluation willtemporarily have the same authorization as you, and can therefore view the exact same data.

• selection data

When you choose selection data, the recipient will see the data you selected. He can also make a new selection from the database in case project data may have already changed since the time you sent him the evaluation.

• Batch variants

Batch variants enable you to have the information system carried out automatically and even periodically. This new function enables you to set the parameters for carrying out the information system in the background to create a pool of confirmations, start a workflow, save a project version or selection version, or alert a project manager of a critical situation.

In the latter case, the batch variant can function as an early warning system. You set the parameters for the batrch variants on the initial screen of the project information system under Tools -> Structure/dates -> Batch variants.

• Network structure graphic

You can group network activities by network or by WBS element by selecting the menu options Settings -> Grouping -> WBS elem/network.

Changes to menu options

• Project version

With the menu option Edit -> Compare (columns) -> Project versions you can compare project versions column-by-column.

With the menu option View -> Compare versions (rows) you can compare project versions row-by-row.

• Change documents

You can now display change documents in the information system by selecting Extras -> Change documents.

You can limit the change documents to be displayed, for example, all changes made by a certain user or on a certain data. To do this, select Settings -> Change documents.

• Pool of confirmations

You can now delete a pool of confirmations in the information system.

• Confirmations

You can now confirm capacity requirements in addition to network activities.

• Plant maintenance orders

You can now select and view subobjects of maintenance orders in evaluations in the project information system: structure/dates.

All of the enhancements outlined in the release note Project information system: General changes in Release 3.0D are also valid for the structure/dates information system.
