New Master data Structures: Chart of Commitment Items
Description
The chart of commitment items forms the basis for an FM area which you can allocate the required commitment items to the appropriate FM area for each fiscal year.FM areas which share the same structure can use the same commitment items from a chart.
Using a two-tier concept the chart of commitment items is able to reproduce a structural change on a
yearly basis. For each year you can either allocate different charts of commitment items to an FM area
or only particular commitment items from a chart. (You cannot yet use year-dependent commitment items function in Release 30F/PS/4 ).
- Commitment items in the chart of commitment items
You create the chart of commitment items in Customizing using the
- standard variant 000. The standard variant contains all commitment
- items which you can and cannot post to. (Further variants which make a
- representation of alternative hierarchies in the information system possible, are not yet connected to the function).
In the application menu you then create all commitment items which you
- can and cannot post to in this chart of commitment items.
- Commitment items in the FM area
In Customizing you allocate the chart of commitment items to an FM
- area and a fiscal year.
Caution: In Release 30F/PS/4 you cannot yet make the allocation
- for a particular fiscal year. In this case the fiscal year is
- 0000. The commtiment items are therefore non-year-dependent.
In the application menu you select the commitment items which are to be valid for an FM area and a fiscal year per FM area and fiscal year from the chart of commitment items.

During an upgrade the 'old' non-year-dependent commitment items are automatically transferred into the new structures by means of a program.
The Customizing entries are set automatically. The chart of commitment items then receives the name of the FM area. The chart of commitment items is allocated to the FM area in fiscal year 0000.
The hierarchy of commitment items is transferred to the chart of commitment items and the FM area in fiscal year 0000. All the commitment items data is retained including the long texts and the classification data.
Effects on System Administration
In order to display or change a chart of commitment items you must create authorizations for the authorization object "F_FICA_PPL."
Assigning authorizations for displaying and changing the FM area or creating, changing, displaying and deleting the commitment items in the FM area is still carried out using the authorization objects "F_FICB_FKR" and "F FICA_FPS"
In the next Release assigning authorizations for commitment items will be changed over to an authorization assignment for authorization groups. The field required for this in the commitment item master record (at FM area level) is already available in this Release. The same applies to the basic authorization object "F_FICA_FPG."
The authorization assigned then no longer refers to the commitment item itself, but to the authorization group which is designed for the commitment item. In this respect it is still important to consider that a commitment item without an authorization group will not be subject to an authorization check.
Furthermore, it is important to consider that in authorization objects "F_FICA_FTR" and "F_FICB_FPS" the field "FM_AUTHDAY" is no longer taken into account.
