Short text
Applying Surcharges in Activity-Assigned Networks
Description
From Release 30F, you can enter a costing sheet and surcharge key for each activity. You can then define overhead surcharges at activity level.
The procedure for assigning costing sheets to activities when you create new activities;
- If the activity is assigned to a WBS element, the costing sheet and surcharge key are copied from the assigned WBS elements to the activity.
- If the activity is assigned to a WBS element and you have not entered a costing sheet in the WBS element, the system uses the costing sheet and surcharge key from the network header.
- If no WBS element is assigned to the activity, the system uses the costing sheet and the surcharge key from the network header
The derivation logic is the same as the process used for activities to inherit business areas and profit centers.
The procedure for existing activities has not changed (costing sheets are not specifically assigned to activities).
This has led to the following changes in surcharge calculation:
- If a costing sheet is assigned to the activity, surcharges are calculated per the data maintained in the activity
- If there is no costing sheet maintained in the activity, the costing sheet from the network header is used (for consistency reasons)
You can maintain the costing sheet and surcharge key for an activitiy manually. You do this in the Assignments detail screen. You access this from the activity overview by choosing Detail -> Activity/Element -> Assignments.
Changes to the Interface
The detail screen for entering network assignments now includes fields for the costing sheet and surcharge key.
